Awakenings is home to a multi-media art gallery featuring the artistic expressions of rape and sexual abuse survivors. By showcasing stories of survival, we are helping survivors and allies find peace and healing while simultaneously challenging the cultural taboos that prevent an honest discussion of sexual violenc.
We exhibit two to three group shows a year with short pop up exhibits intandem with other events at Awakenings.
We do not charge artists to exhibit, however it is the artist's responsibility to get artwork delivered to the gallery and returned at the end of the show.
We are looking for visual artists of any medium for example drawing, photography, paint, sculpture, multimedia.
Artwork must be on the topic of sexual violence and healing.
